Author Talk and Fundraiser with Dulce Havill
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm

Dulce Havill spoke about her book “Crossing Borders”, self published in 2024, to an audience of 29 people.
In 1977 she and a girlfriend traveled to Africa and India before women could apply for credit cards. She mentioned as she read from her book, “I can’t believe I took this trip”. Also explaining how she wrote her book was a trip of its own.
The BLFF would like to thank Dulce for participating in this special fundraiser to support providing art supplies for the young adult and adult craft table that is located by the puzzle table inside the main part of the library.
Over $700 was raised. Thank you, Woody, Susan, Nancy, and Denise, for making the Feb 28, 2026 fundraiser a great success!

2025 Fundraisers

BLFF LIFETIME MEMBERS CLUB – Annual Fundraiser 2025-26
Lifetime Members Club Does it Again!

The 2025-26 project was to raise $6,805 for replacing the outdated 25-year-old overhead fluorescent lights with LED lights in the stacks for the young adult/adult book and media area. This will give better light and save some money on electric bills. A small group of lifers made this happen with extra left for other things. The library subject signs on the shelves will be updated. Possibly more floor lamps, too. And of course, as promised, we’ll be adding more large-print books,  the price of which can often run twice as much as a regular book.

Lifetime members have generously supported these annual special library projects.  The 2023-24 project was to pay the Bandon Library utility bills for FY2023-24.  The 2024-25 project was adding windows that open in the Kid’s Zone.  Become a lifetime member of BLFF and join us next fall to raise funds for a Bandon Library special project.  Contact Cathy at  lifetimemembers@bandonlff.or
