Help in the Library – Children’s Programs
The Library is looking for volunteers for various Story Time programs at the Bandon Public Library.
Volunteers facilitate story time for preschool or student participants. Schedules vary throughout the school year. Facilitators help students read and practice Socratic style discussion of reading matter including vocabulary. For some groups like Junior Great Books there are discussion guides.
It’s a lot like a book club—with colored pencils and no homework. Students take turns reading aloud during story time. We also enjoy art projects, reader’s theater, music and culinary explorations. Volunteers can anticipate facilitating one session per month.
Come into the library and talk to Julie about children’s programs you might want to volunteer for.
